Outfit Of The Day: Lazy Sunday (Doesn't mean you can't be fashionable)

Hey dolls,
Today has been a very laid back sunday and this is the outfit I came up with. I wanted something that was super comfortable yet still stylish.

It's still pretty chilly in Chicago and I wanted to wear a cozy sweatshirt, but this isn't just any sweatshirt! I bought this top from Torrid and I love the floral detailing in the front. It also has a sexydetail at the back with a lace cutout.

The jeans are from Ecko and I purchased them from DJ Rays : http://www.drjays.com/ they are just a basic dark wash skinny jean.

My accessories are pretty simple, I'm wearing my charm bracelet that I received as a gift and a set of light blue bracelets that I also purchased from Torrid. The earrings are so adorable!! I also picked these up from Torrid and they are the cutest sugar skull earrings I have ever seen!

The finish off the outfit I slipped on a pair of wedge sneakers. I wasn't really a fan of this trend but I saw them at Target and they caught my eye. I tried them on and couldn't believe how comfortable these sneakers were. I love the stud detailing on them too!

If you have any requests on what type of outfits you'd like to see please leave a comment below :)

Take care sweeties!!

Plus Size Haulage: Asos Curve

Hey dolls,

Here is another plus size fashion haul. I have posted my video below if you would like to see the live version of this haul. Also below, I will be giving you a detailed review of my experience with Asos Curve and you can also see the items I have picked up from their site.

I have been shopping with Asos Curve for several months now and I haven't had any issues with any of my purchases or pieces of clothing. I can't really comment on their customer service experience because I haven't needed to contact them.

The pieces I have picked up through out my purchase adventure have been good quality pieces made of good quality materials. I love how the clothing fits me. I have to give Asos Curves kudos, they really had the plus size woman in mind. When I tried their clothing on it felt like each piece was taylored specifially for me.

I did notice that the sizing of their clothing does run two sizes too big. So if you are ordering from their website I would definately order a size or two down.

Asos Curve does have pricey clothing like the leather jacket above which will run you $175 but with coupon codes and sales they have often you can catch a great deal on these expensive pieces. I usually tend to stay with close to their clearance section because they will have a % off their clearance items and will double up and give you an additional discount when they have their clearance sales.

I always purchase my items on their website: asos.com and just click on their Curve section. Matter a fact, I don't think they even have a standing store where you can walk into and purchase items. Their shipping will take some time. From the day I purchase an item to the day I get it is about 10 business days. I'm not a fan of how long it takes to receive my package, but I do like the fact that Asos keeps me updated on where my shipment is.

I love how edgy Asos' fashion is. If you are looking for a rocker look like the outfit below this website is for you. You can also find some staple peieces that aren't as trendy that you'll be able to pull out of your closet and reuse years from now like trench coats, chinos and blazers. Their style is very versatile and wether you're on the preppy or rocker side you'll be able to find something to add to your wardrobe.

What really drew me in was their different patterns and textures they have in their clothing. I remember the first time I went to their website and saw this button down top with little terrier dogs that I absolutly in love with and wasn't able to pick it up since they ran out of my size :(

I really recommend trying this website if you are looking to add some edge to your outfits. Remember to sign up for their emails. I always recommend doing this with all brands you are into because you will always get up to date news on their new releases and sales. You may also receive coupon codes as well!!

Take care sweeties
xoxo

Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Powder

Hey Dolls,
I wanted to do a review of two new Revlon products I came across at my local CVS drugstore. The two products I picked up were the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Face Powder.
Revlon's statement is that these products will "blend seamlessly with lightweight feel, evening skin tone and provide a shine-free natural coverage so people notice your skin, not your makeup."
I paid $9.99 for the foundation and also the face powder.  I liked the fact that the display for these products had a color wheel which made it easy to select my color and above the foundations were the corresponding face powders, so that saved me some time :)

There's pros and cons to the foundation packaging. I like the fact that it does have a glass bottle, to me it makes it look more high end and sleek. The con of having a glass bottle is that if you drop it, you can pretty much say bye-bye to your foundation. I DO NOT like the fact that the foundation bottle doesn't come with a pump. To apply the product to your skin you will have to pour some onto a makeup palette or onto the top of your hand (like I do) so you can apply the product with a brush. The cap to the foundation is also difficult to twist off. The packaging to the powder is quite nice. I like the fact that there is a window to the product so you can see the color of the powder. The compact has a pretty decent size mirror so if you are traveling with it, you don't have to worry about a mirror. The little powder puff is a nice size for touch ups like the nose, forehead and cheek areas.

I really like the finish these two products give my skin. I currently have dry/combination skin since it is winter time and the foundation gives my skin a very nice dewy finish without looking oily. If you are a person with skin that is already on the oily side I wouldn't recommend this product. I did notice throughout the day my T-zone did get a little oily and the oily did break through the foundation and powder. If you are a person that doesn't like dewy finishes to your foundation I wouldn't recommend this product for your either. I know this might sound weird but as the day went on I felt like my skin looked better than it did in the morning. I just had a nice fresh dewy look to my skin and I loved it!

The powder was another win! I have tried quite a few drugstore face powders and they always felt powdery and chalky, I can't say that with this face powder. The powder has a nice silky feeling to it. When the powder is applied to the face is has a nice creamy feeling to the skin. If you are a person that doesn't have a lot of problem areas on the skin you can get away with using this product as a powder foundation. The pigmentaion to this product is quite good. I would say a light to medium coverage just like the foundation.

Overall, I loved the way these two products made my skin feel. It felt like my skin but better. I received compliments thorughout the day and no one even knew I had any foundation or powder on my skin. These products did not feel heavy on my skin and I felt like my skin could breathe. The next time you're at your local drugstore definately take a look at these products :)

Take care dolls,
xoxo

Date Night Outfit Of The Day (OOTD)

Hey dolls :)
I was requested to do an outfit of the day for date night. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity since it's also my husband's birthday and we celebrated by having a ramantic dinner date. I hope you enjoy this blog post and find it helpful.
I always enjoy adding color into my outfit in some way and as you can see I decided to go with a colorful blazer. Usually I find that wearing a blazer is too stuffy as if I was going to work, but I just rolled up the sleeves a little and left the blazer open to tone down the look.
I absolutly love this tuexedo blazer, I purchased it from Eloquii.com and was able to catch a deal on it at 40% off.

You can always find me here:

The blush colored sleeveless top I picked up from Asos Curve which was also a steal. I always try to shop the clearance sections or sale sections of plus size retailers and was able to pick this item up for under $20

My Jeans are by Not Your Daughters Jeans and they are the Marilyn straight leg style, in a indigo denim color. Normally they jeans will run you over $100 easily but I was able to pick them up from Hautelook for under $60.

I consider myself a bargain shopper. Although the pieces I pick up are still a bit pricey, they are still a lot cheaper than retail value. I also Google coupon codes or use Ebates to get futher discounts.

Along with a date night outfit I was also requested to do a date night makeup look. I will be posting a Youtube video explaining step by step on how to achieve this look :)

My Accessories:

pendalum necklace from jewelmint
Leila "live in the moment" bracelet
Lane Bryant black Booties.

Plus Size Haulage: Eloquii (Review)

Hey dolls,
One of my New Year's resolutions is to become more stylish. I really want to be adventurous with my fashion sense and step out of my comfort zone. I figured I would share my experience with you :)
This post features a plus size company by the name of Eloquii which happens to be the plus size division of The Limited. Their website is easy to navigate through and you can easily find what you're looking for with just one click.
Eloquii's clothing is very well made, sturdy and is made with good quality materials that will not break down on you. Their pieces are classic with a bit of flare. Although Eloquii's clothing is on the pricier side the pieces they have will never go out of fashion.
I found that the clothing is pretty true to size, but one of the blazer's I purchased did run a little big. I would recommend using their measuring guide just to make sure your items fit like a glove :) but no worries, if you do need to return anything you purchase they do offer free returns.
If you do need help trying to pick out items to add to your wardrobe Eloquii does offer a styling tool called "shape my style" which picks out clothing pieces based on your answers to a few questions.
When you sign up for Eloquii emails they will give you a coupon code to use towards your purchase and you will get 15% off. I have noticed that they are constantly having specials, for example right now they are having a 30% off one item, 40% of 2 items and 50% off 3 items.
Overall I will definately purchase from Eloquii in the future, especially for casual and work pieces that I know I can wear years down the line without them going out of style.
